Written by Hard Art Groop bassist John Elmquist and Jumpsuit, who split musical duties with HAG, Cowtown (The Musical The Opera) isn’t quite Orwell’s Animal Farm nor is it Oklahoma! It’s far too innocent and corrupt to be one or the other, what with songs about milk, football, eating meat, breathing meat, Siamese-twin-love… if there was a metaphor, I missed it, but I enjoyed all those puns, rhymes, and word-plays about cows.
US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton wants viewers of internet video site YouTube to pick her campaign theme song - and the response, so far, has been music to her ears.
In a clear appeal to young voters, a YouTube video asks viewers to vote for Clinton's presidential campaign theme song on her website. The contest started May 16 and the number of songs was narrowed to 10 on Thursday - five initially suggested by the campaign and five write-in candidates.
They range from U2's Beautiful Day to Smash Mouth's version of I'm a Believer to Celine Dion's You and I.
"If they don't know who you who you are, they're not going to go out and vote for you," she said.
The five suggested songs that got the most votes:

I was trying to take a short nap a while ago. The Simpson's was on TV and a baseball announcer says "It's going, going, and just like America's credibility on the Global Stage, it's gone!" That woke me up. It was funny, sad and true. My usual browser won't work on the "improved" blogger, it might need an update or something. That's one reason for my absence as of late, another was my quest for a new (to me) car. I found a car online that I was fairly sure I wanted. I had to e-mail the girl who owned the car a lot to coordinate the undertaking of purchasing a car from someone over a hundred miles away. She seemed very nice and after a while she seemed like someone that would be very pretty. I finally got to see her when I went down to Dallas to look at the car. Man, what a DOG! LOL! No, not really, quite the opposite, she was a knock out! She was super cute, but pretty too. I'm glad that we had already kind of agreed to a price because I would probably just agree to whatever she said. BTW, I bought the car, of course.

As Balsa and Chagum attempt to escape using the Blue Hand slaves, the funeral for Chagum has begun. However, in the Aogiri Mountains, Chagum and Balsa are discovered by the Emperor's assasins. -by Anthony
During a fight against four pursuers, Balsa loses Chagum. She manages to rescue him, but due to her wounds, Chagum must carry on by himself to Tanda's hut.
The female bodyguard Balsa is forcibly recruited to protect prince Chagum from his own father, who must kill him due to him being possessed by a water spirit.

Gai begins his fight with Kisame after ten-ten, neji and lee have been caught. Meanwhile Naruto has been caught in a genjutsu by Uchiha Itachi and has a flashback to his training with Ero-sennin (Jiraiya-sama). Naruto focuses on his efforts on breaking Itachi's genjutsu. Ikkou is a young buddhist monk in training, having been at Saenji for six months. He hasn't been training as long as the other girls at Saenji, a buddhist temple in which are only girls except for Ikkou. Despite his inexperience, he has a latent natural power, and in order for this power to be accessed he has to see Chitose, a fellow nun at Saenji, naked. - by anon
Throughout the town, various training sessions are taking place: Ichigo is training with Hiyori to improve the time he can use his hollow mask, Chad is training with Renji to make his arm stronger, and Uryū is training with Ryūken to regain his powers. Meanwhile, Orihime tracks down Ichigo to inform him of Aizen's plans. This comes as a surprise to the other vizard, as she passes through the barrier with no effort. In his battle with Ryūken, Uryū finally loses his patience and goes on the attack, only to be shot through the chest. A pentacle-shaped scar forms at the point of contact, and Ryūken informs Uryū that his powers have been restored.
The organization's Numbers Two through Five, Priscilla, Ilena, Noel, and Sofia, are ordered to kill Teresa. Priscilla engages Teresa in single combat, but is nevertheless outmatched despite having the upper hand against Teresa's Yoki reading ability. The other three jump in to help, and the whole team releases their Yoma powers, Clare watching from the sidelines.
This movie introduced Rem, the Shinigami who gave a second Death Note to Misa. Misa used her Death Note to attempt to make contact with Kira (Light) and made the Shinigami eye trade. Using this power she discovered that Light was Kira, and tracked him down.
When she found him, she declared her devotion to him and gave him her Death Note as proof, and in exchange, he agreed to go out with her. Soon afterward, Light encountered L on the university campus, wearing a mask so that his face could not be seen. Misa turned up to say hello to Light, and Light manipulated the circumstance so that Misa could see L's face, and therefore his name. However, L had already deduced that Misa was the Second Kira, and he had her captured and imprisoned before she could tell Light his name.
Misa gave up her ownership of the Death Note and lost all memory pertaining to it, and thus once captured she honestly remembered nothing about the Death Note, the Shinigami, or being the Second Kira. Light then used the same trick, burying his own Death Note in the forest for future retrieval, and allowed L to capture him and lock him up, telling Rem to give Misa's Death Note to someone else.
After several days, the Kira deaths stopped, but then resumed when the new owner of Misa's Death Note began to use it. L authorized Misa's and Light's releases, but Misa was required to stay in a secure, though comfortable, compound. L and Light hunted down the new owner of the Death Note, Kiyomi Takada, and captured her and her Death Note, then coming to see Rem.
The Straw Hats continue their fight against the marines while Usopp reveals himself to Luffy and encourages him to stand once more. Zoro has his Yubashiri destroyed by the Sabi Sabi no Mi. Luffy defeats Rob Lucci using his Gomu Gomu no Jet Gatling Gun.
San and Nagasumi attend their first day of school. San's father and the gang have all become teachers at their middle school, and Nagasumi's friend Sarutobi falls in love with San. Nagasumi must survive constant attacks from his new "teachers".
As a dutiful wife, San follows Nagasumi back to his house in the city, where she is to live with him and his parents. However, the first day back turns out to be quite hectic and eventful.
San and Nagasumi get to spend a whole day alone on a deserted island. However, this is a trap meant to eliminate Nagasumi, as the group's notorious assassin and longtime friend of San's, the "Spiral Shell" Maki, is after his life.
Nagasumi enjoys his first date with San at the Bon Festival. However, most stalls are operated by the Setouchi Yakuza. And if that wasn't enough trouble, Nagasumi soon finds out that San's legs revert into a tail when she is splashed with water.
Teenager Nagasumi is saved by the chivalrous mermaid San while drowning in the ocean off the coast of Seto island. Mermaid society rules are strict. In order for both Nagasumi and San to stay alive, they have to get married. But little does our protagonist know that San's mermaid clan is in fact a Yakuza group.
"About Elfen Lied" Most of you probably already watched this series. But it's so beautiful that I can't resist posting it for those who haven't watched it. Be warned that this series contains nudity and violence. I am talking about decapitation, arms and limbs flying off, and blood showers. Please skip it if you are offended from watching that kind of contents.

Elfen Lied focuses on a mysterious and deadly breed of horned humans called "diclonius", and the havoc they wreak upon humanity. The title Elfen Lied is German for "Elf Song", and pronounced approximately [ˈɛlfən liːt], although the correct German spelling would be "Elfenlied". The anime adaptation began airing in Japan on July 25, 2004 and spanning in 13 episodes. Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
The story begins with a naked young girl named Lucy escaping under odd circumstances from an insular research facility off the coast of Kamakura in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan. Lucy manages to nonchalantly dismember and slay a fair number of the staff and guards with a form of seemingly supernatural power and gets outside. A sniper is seen trying to shoot her, only managing to ricochet a bullet off her metal helmet. Lucy then falls off a cliff into the sea, bleeding from her head but ultimately surviving and evading the research staff.
Lucy is not a normal human but rather a diclonius: a mutant variant of humans with two small horns on their heads (hence the name diclonius) that resemble cat ears. The diclonius race possesses telekinetic powers through use of their "vectors", invisible arms that they control with a number and length of reach depending on the diclonius.
The day after Lucy's escape, a boy named Kohta arrives at Kamakura to meet his cousin Yuka. Kohta has come to study at the local university and has been given lodging at an old, family-owned inn, the "Maple Inn", provided he acts as the caretaker. After meeting with Yuka, they go for a visit to the beach and find Lucy washed up on the shore, still naked and bleeding from her head. The head trauma Lucy experienced causes her to develop a split personality. In stark contrast to the cold and sadistic Lucy, this personality is completely docile, harmless and is incapable at first of saying anything other than "Nyū". Not knowing what to do with her, Kohta and Yuka take her back to the inn to look after her and name her "Nyū". Yuka quickly decides that it will be best that she also live at the inn.
Kohta, Nyū, and Yuka begin settling into their life at the inn and Nyū begins to dredge up painful repressed memories from Kohta's past. Meanwhile, the researchers from the laboratory where Lucy was held begin searching for her, dispatching both human and diclonius agents to hunt her down.
After another daring heist, Lupin finds himself stolen; he is kidnapped by the crime lord Malchovich, and is forced to agree to steal the infamous 'Bull's Eye' jewel - or Fujiko will be killed by a bomb strapped around her neck. However, Lupin's progress is hindered by a young woman named Becky, who is out to prove herself by outdoing him in the field of thievery. She turns out to be the daughter of Cat, Lupin's first partner in crime...and her father's identity is anyone's guess.
Eventually, it's revealed that the Malchovich and company have set everything up to acquire the fabled "Lupin Collection" - the valuables Lupin has amassed during his long and successful career. With a couple of highly skilled warriors in his employ, Malchovich is determined to get rid of Lupin once and for all. But there are of course a couple of surprises awaiting for both sides of the conflict...

"About Seto no Hanayome" After the gruesomeness but heart-breaking Elfen Lied, I am posting the lighter side of anime. Seto no Hanayome is an ongoing romantic comedy series started airing on April 1, 2007. I hope you guys will love it. Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
One day while on vacation, teenage boy Nagasumi Michishio was drowning in the Seto Inland Sea. Luckily, he got rescued at the last minute by the mermaid San Seto. Being saved from drowning was great and all, but as it turns out, mermaids have a bunch of really strict rules about not being found out by humans. If a mermaid happens to be seen in her true form, there are only three ways she's allowed to resolve the situations: kill the human, die herself, or somehow assimilate the human into mermaid society. Understandably less than exuberant about the first two choices, Nagasumi and San pick the only reasonable alternative and decide to get married.
But Nagasumi had no idea what he was signing up for. It just so happens that San's dad Gōzaburō is the big mob boss in mermaid-land, and he's hopping mad about his daughter running off and marrying some pipsqueak human. Between Gōzaburō's attempts on his life and the madcap antics of a whole slew of antagonists — including the daughter of the rival mobster and a rich male transfer student with a thing for San — Nagasumi is not enjoying a very smooth transition into his new lifestyle.
I usually buy a few tomato plants around this time of year but I found some growing wild yesterday. Yep, I transplanted them into my garden yesterday. One of them is pretty big already. Now I just need a few pepper plants and that will be enough of a garden for me. Oh no! there's a cat in our backyard. He'd better get out before my malamute wakes up. That dog has made many a cat hit #9. Three cats, two possums and our neighbors pet chicken. They all made the mistake of getting in our backyard. I would just let Yoshi in but the logistics are too much. One of my little inside dogs is stupid and growls at her. Yoshi's not the type to let things fester, she wants to straighten things out here and now. The pecking order instinct is very strong in her. She looks like a wolf and is very much a pack animal. She still goes by the rules "Admit that I am dominant or we'll fight and see, if you win, I will respect your dominance over me." Even Bob and she had a fight like that, Yoshi just barely won (Bob was young). It was a pretty wicked fight but they needed to work it out, they get along fine now.

*Alfred Brian Mitchell's Death Sentence Overturned - Re-sentencing Ordered Gilchrist has been repeatedly accused of false testimony and shoddy results in her work during the past 15 years. She has been involved in approximately 3,000 cases, including at least 23 cases where defendants were eventually sentenced to death and have either been executed or remain on death row. 11 of those people were executed during the past two years, including Marilyn Plantz and Randall Cannon who was executed on July 23rd - despite strong doubts as to his guilt because of Joyce Gilchrist's testimony.
Oklahoma County District Attorney Robert Macy, who often relied on testimony from Gilchrist, announced his resignation effective June 30, 2001.
Death Row Inmate Freed After Murder Charge Dropped Fired Chemist Allegedly Destroyed Evidence

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A former Oklahoma death row inmate whose conviction was based largely on the testimony of a fired Oklahoma City police chemist walked out of jail Friday after a state judge dismissed a 22-year-old murder charge against him.
District Judge Twyla Mason Gray ruled that the case against Curtis Edward McCarty could not escape the taint of former police chemist Joyce Gilchrist and that Gilchrist acted in "bad faith" by losing and destroying evidence that could have been used to show McCarty's innocence.
"Frankly, all of the evidence that Joyce Gilchrist collected, if she inventoried it, if she stored it, if she analyzed it, I believe that it is so questionable that it is difficult to determine if it has any evidentiary value," Gray said.
McCarty, 42, was released from the Oklahoma County Jail at about 12:15 p.m. Attorneys and family members escorted him to a waiting gray mini van through a crowd of reporters who asked him if he thought he would ever be freed.
"Actually, I did," McCarty said. "It's kind of a hollow victory for everybody I think."
McCarty's lead attorney, Perry Hudson, said McCarty's release means he will finally be able to reunite with his terminally ill mother.
"About Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu) is produced by Kyoto Animation, shares the first novel's plotline, interspersed with self-contained episodes (with the exception of the two-part Remote Island Syndrome) taken from short stories from later on in the novel series. The first of the fourteen episode series premiered in Japan on April 2, 2006. Notably, these episodes were not originally broadcast in chronological order. There has been news about a possible second season to the anime series to begin in Fall 2007.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya follows the high school life of Haruhi Suzumiya and those who are caught up in her antics. While Haruhi is the central character to the plot, the story is told from the point of view of Kyon, one of Haruhi's classmates.
Kyon is an ordinary freshman high school student who only recently given up his fantasies of espers, time travelers, aliens etc. as he left middle school. When he chooses to speak to one eccentric girl by the name of Haruhi Suzumiya, he unwittingly sets off a chain of events which drag him into surreal situations; he is drawn further into a world eerily like the fantasies he had just managed to outgrow, with Haruhi Suzumiya at its center.
Searching for a group that interests her, Haruhi joins and quits every club in school finding only dissatisfaction. Kyon makes a snide remark about her actions and accidentally provides Haruhi the inspiration to create a club of her own. To help start the club, Haruhi forcefully drafts Kyon, who only stays in the club to protect (or try to protect) other helpless victims of Haruhi's "voluntary arrests". As the story progresses, Kyon finds that each of these supposedly "helpless victims" has a specific reason to be there.
Except for Kyon, the students in the club are secret agents of various organizations who are sent to observe Haruhi. They gradually explain that Haruhi has superhuman control over every aspect of the universe - an ability which she is unaware of. Whenever Haruhi becomes bored or otherwise dissatisfied with reality, she unconsciously creates a new universe - one more to her liking - and attempts to switch over. This leads to the destruction of the current universe. To prevent this, the members of Haruhi's club spend their time trying to keep their god-like leader entertained, hold her powers in check, and maintain the illusion of a normal life.
The series never clarifies whether the club members gathered around Haruhi by their own free will, were drawn together by her subconscious, or were simply created out of thin air for Haruhi's amusement. The question of their origin is a motif.
The fight between Luffy and Lucci rages on, as the rest of the crew, minus Chopper, who can't move at all, face off against a massive army of Marines. Luffy seems to gain the upperhand in his fight, until Lucci hits him with his strongest attack, the Rokuougan.
Set between the events of episodes 10 and 11 (and thus often referred to as "episode 10.5"): Nana is still settling in to live in Kouta's home, as she is given the task to help clean the place with Lucy. Lucy, as Nyu, hits her head and has a flashback of her capture by Kurama, and talks in her unconscious state, revealing her capture, and why she never harms Kurama. This episode has little effect on the plot of the series, and has more anime-style exaggerations in it.
After Mariko regains her ability to use her Vectors, she and Lucy have one final fight, ending in Lucy almost dying. Kurama then takes Mariko in his arms and dies with her when the bomb inside her is detonated. With a final goodbye kiss between Kouta and Lucy, she leaves and is last seen when she is shot at by a squad of soldiers, but she is not seen dead, just one of her horns is seen landing on the ground. It is hinted, however, that Lucy does in fact return to Kōta, as the final shot of the series is of an unknown figure arriving at the door of the inn, but the meaning of this is not explicitly stated in the anime version.
With Nana nearly dead, she falls into the sea below her only to be rescued later by Kurama. Also, it is finally revealed how Kouta's father and sister were killed.
Kouta's family grows by one as Nana is finally taken into Kouta's home. Kurama's past is explained, and it is shown how he became a part of the Diclonius research facility. Later when his daughter is shown to have been born a Silpelit, he is given the difficult decision to kill his own child.
Nana is released with brand-new artificial limbs and enough money to last her for a while on her own. Soon, she is found by Mayu and they become friends with each other. Nana is then brought back to Kouta's home, and Nana instantly attacks Lucy.
Bando escapes from the hospital still trying to find Lucy to satisfy his grudge against her. Professor Kakuzawa Yū's decapitated body is found by his assistant and Kouta. Finally, Lucy is found by Kouta and Yuka and taken back home.
Mayu's hard past and why she ran away from home are revealed. Later, Kouta and Yuka take Lucy along with them to the university though when their professor explains he's her relative, they leave Lucy with him.
Lucy and Nana start to fight in a local graveyard and before long Nana is nearly dead. Afterwards, Mayu is taken into Kouta's home and given a place to stay for the time being.
Nana is released from her confinement in order to track down Lucy and bring her back to the facility. Meanwhile, a young homeless girl named Mayu comes to return Kouta's umbrella.
While Gai's group must fight against Kisame in order to proceed, Kakashi's group is cut off by another familiar face...Itachi Uchiha! Kakashi and Naruto team up and face the legendary ninja, but will even that be enough? -by annaqtjoey
Lucy escapes from the facility she was imprisoned in, though a near-fatal injury to her head causes her to form a split personality. Later, she is found by Kouta and Yuka and taken back home with them.
After a conversation with a manifestation of Kenpachi Zaraki, Ichigo is able to steal his hollow's sword and impale him with it, gaining control over his inner hollow. Elsewhere, Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai speaks with Hitsugaya about Aizen's objective: he plans to obtain the royal key and overthrow the king of Soul Society. However, as Yamamoto is the only person who knows where the key is, Aizen will have to manufacture a duplicate using 100,000 human souls gathered in Karakura Town, and in doing so vaporize a large portion of the city. At Urahara's shop, Chad is fighting against Renji's final release as training, while Ishida is still dodging arrows from his father under Karakura Hospital.
After getting an important piece of information from Mello, Near starts suspecting Light. Light however, after finally subduing the U.S. government, sets up a trap for him.
Havoc, formerly a feared Contractor but now without her powers, is captured by MI6 Contractors and transported, jointly with the Tokyo police, to a research facility in Tokyo. However, Havoc is kidnapped from the convoy by Hei's team. And it seems that Hei himself has a hidden agenda regarding Havoc.
Teresa and Clare arive at a little village in the mountains where a Yoma is residing. After completing her mission Teresa leaves Clare in the care of a couple in the village. Unfortunatly the village is ransacked by bandits who only stayed their swords for the Yoma's presence. After seeing the bodies of the villages and Clare being dragged away Teresa goes into a frenzy and kills the bandits breaking the rules of the Claymore. Teresa is now being hunted by the Claymore while taking care of her new reason for life. - by Killsquad
The film opens with events that happened at InuYasha's birth. The suitor Takemaru kills Izayoi just before InuYasha's father arrives. InuYasha's father arrives and resurrects Izayoi, telling her to escape with their son, whom he names as InuYasha and gives her the red Fire Rat Armor to protect them from the burning palace. Presumably, InuYasha's father died with Takemaru when the entire complex crashed and burned down as the two dueled inside the palace.
In the present era, Kagome's Grandfather comes by with a sword which he calls a 'national treasure'; as Grandfather is about to put it in the storehouse for "safe keeping", Kagome's younger brother goes over to the sword, and it speaks. The sword is So'unga, the sword of hell, and it possesses a connection to InuYasha's father. It tried to possess InuYasha, but InuYasha tried his best to resist being controlled and finally brings the sword back to the past, but in the process unleashes the deadly powers the sword holds on an evacuated village.
Sesshomaru is also alerted of the presence of So'unga, and he follows the scent to find that InuYasha is in possession of the sword. The two of them duel and at a crucial moment, Kagome saves the day and forces the So'unga to release InuYasha from its grasp. It finds a new demon host and recovers Sesshomaru's lost left arm, then revives Takemaru and subsequently possess him, aiming to take revenge on InuYasha and Sesshomaru.
So'unga was the third sword that InuYasha's father possessed. Individually, it was stronger than either the Tenseiga or the Tessaiga. Sesshomaru wields the Tenseiga, and InuYasha wields the Tessaiga, can the two arch nemesis find a way to bring an end to So'unga, the Sword of World Conquest?
Redux Beverages LLC said its caffeine-loaded drink -- which contains no cocaine despite the name -- would get a new name but that the company would continue to fight for the right to bring back the "Cocaine" name.
The Las Vegas, Nevada-based firm said it took the action in the face of "threats" by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and state officials.
A statement said the company was "agreeing temporarily to cease distribution of the Cocaine Energy Drink until the legality of using the name 'Cocaine' can be firmly established."
"Obviously, we were forced to stop shipping the drink as 'Cocaine' for now, but we're not done fighting for our rights," said Jamey Kirby, founder of Redux, who added that a new name and label would be offered in the coming weeks.
"We've received tens of thousands of e-mails and phone calls from consumers expressing outrage and disbelief that the government can ban a perfectly safe product for no reason other than it has a racy name.
"We tried to contact Yves Saint Laurent to warn them that Opium perfume could be next, but they were too busy enjoying the freedom of expression guaranteed by the US Constitution -- a freedom we here at Redux, sadly, lack."
Legal troubles for the firm began on April 4, when the FDA issued a warning to Redux that it considered the drink illegal, saying it was being marketed as an alternative to an illegal street drug and making claims to treat or cure disease.
Later, the attorneys general of Texas, Connecticut and Illinois followed with similar allegations.
An FDA spokesman declined to comment on the case saying it was still under investigation.
Cocaine Energy Drink contains over 1,100 milligrams of caffeine, slightly more than a large Starbucks coffee, according to the company, and among the highest in the category.
It also contains taurine, an amino acid, and guarana, a stimulant from a South American plant, as well as vitamins and other ingredients. The makers have called it "the legal alternative" and it was competing in a rapidly growing market for energy drinks worth more than 3.5 billion dollars in the United States alone.
Redux claimed the drink had made inroads by taking market share from beverages including Red Bull, RockStar and Monster, which also are loaded with caffeine and other stimulants.
The company's website was recently revised, with the page normally offering sales of the beverage covered with a black band saying "Banned by The Man."
"The FDA came after us with the same regulation they used to halt the distribution of herbal ecstasy, which was a situation where drug users were buying their drugs over the Internet as herbal supplements," said Clegg Ivey, one of Kirby's partners at Redux.
"Apparently, the FDA thinks that users of the illegal narcotic cocaine might, in order to save money and avoid jail time, instead purchase cans of Cocaine Energy Drink."

The SOS Brigade previews their movie of questionable quality. In the movie, Mikuru stars as a time-travelling waitress from the future who must engage in fights with Yuki, who is playing an alien-magician. Mikuru has sworn to protect a young man, played by Itsuki, but before long a love-triangle ensues with both Mikuru and Yuki vying for Itsuki's affections. Kyon is the camera man and narrator of the movie, while Haruhi is the director.
