Guardian of the Sacred Spirit (Seirei no Moribito) is the first in the "Guardian" series of fantasy novels by Nahoko Uehashi. An anime television series based on the novels and directed by Kenji Kamiyama, the director behind the popular animated series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, began broadcasting on April 7, 2007.
