After months of waiting, Batman 3 has some fresh announcements.,Official news is out on casting and some plot elements for the film the Dark Knight Rises. Rumors were going around like wildfire and it shows now with the latest news that some were completely off and others quite close to the truth.
First big news is that Catwoman will indeed be in the film as a vigilante taking the place of Batman in his absence from action. She will be played by Anne Hathaway known primarily from The Princes Diaries (2001) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006). This casting is not only a interesting choice for the film but a challenge also for the young actress. As she will have to dip her feet in the action blockbuster arena after being well known primarily for her comedic and drama work.
The second big news is about Tom Hardy's casting. Most were predicting that he would play Doctor Hugo Strange from the comics due to his likeness with the character. Others said he would be a vigilante himself. I guess it was more obvious than we thought as his body type after his great performance in Bronson (2008) was exactly the comic book villain Bane. Nobody was expecting Bane to be the choice as everyone thought the character too simple and mindless for writer-director Christopher Nolan's taste.
