It took 18 years to get another Superman film. But why did it have to take so long for us to get this miserable failure? I think we could have lived without Bryan Singer's take on Superman as he brought nothing new to the table except bringing the previous film's flaws back to life.

It's been well known that DC has been pushing its most famous characters on to the straight to DVD animation scene. And they've haven't been doing a bad job so far. There initial efforts have only been of their top dog characters. Now there going pushing lesser known heroes out to the mass either through short films or sold packaged together with the DVDs of the other DC superhero animation films. Superman/Shazam is the first short DC film Ive seen and is actually my first encounter with the hero Captain Marvel as Ive still not read any comics with him in it. Pleased to say I wasn't disappointed..

Scott Pilgrim didn't only have to face the world but also film audiences that didn't manage to fill in the cinemas. The 60 million dollar budget film has done only a mere 31 million in the U.S. alone. And from the look of it wont be doing any better internationally. It's a very peculiar film that will take getting used while your watching it within the very first minutes. But for a experienced gamer and comic book fan this film is a walk in the park.

When i heard that the comic book "Batman Under the Hood" was going to be animated, immediately there was a huge wide smile on my face that couldn't make me hide my feelings towards one of my favorite parts of the Batman history. The story of the comic book is dark, violent and full of surprises. But the question remained, could they move all these things to an animation film? Could they make it faithful to the comic book?The answer is yes and no...
The movie starts with Robin having his ass kicked by the Joker with a crowbar. Now every Batman geek, fan not to mention Robin fan like me will instantly recognize this scene. Yes that Robin is Jason Todd the second Robin where he died in an explosion after being beaten to death by the Joker with a crowbar (its a violent overkill that happened in another Batman story "a Death in the Family"). Batman rushes to the scene only to find Robin dead. Thats one of the worst things that had happened to the Batman Family and the one that would haunt him forever. The movie then takes us some years later where we have Batman being put to some challenges by a man with a Red Hood, where he is making his life rather difficult and unlike any other villain. He also seems to know much about Bats and how to escape him and making every gang join him. Who is that guy is the question? The answer is a no brainer with how the movie started. What I was sceptical about is how the voice acting would be. No Mark Hammil as the voice of Joker and no Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman. To me Kevin Conroy is hands down the true voice of Batman not to mention the best. Bruce Greenwood does a great job but still something is missing. In general voice acting is good and has no flaws. Far from it with the names of the voice actors you cant go wrong. Its the nostalgia you may feel and the comparison that you make when you grew up with Batman TAS but lets leave it behind and say that the voice acting is good!
What bothered me the most is that the film doesnt really follow the events of the comic book. Most parts are there but not in the right order. Read the comic book is my advice and you will see what I mean. Sure it has violence, action and the lines but the order they are in is a mess. For example Jason's suit is diffirent, the way he died yes is the same but they left out the most important part! How he got captured by the Joker and why?Well someone might say we are watching Under the Hood not a Death in the Family animation film. My point is if you have flash backs make them right.
By now you will think that I hate this movie but I do not. I liked that it was dark, that it had strong language and that was full of action. We finally also got to see Jason Todd in a Batman animation film and did I mention the movie has Nightwing in it? The finale is faithful to the comic book also I have to say. Batman Fans should definitely watch this one and Batman Geeks as well although i believe fans will enjoy it more than Geeks for the reasons given above. And yes i am a Geek.

What can I say about Under the Red Hood that hasn't been said for all the other DC animation films once again? It's climactic, contains drama and violence in a large percentage compared to the others and has an more adult themed story and that makes me want the rest of DC animated films to emulate this. The film does have its faults as every DC animated film had, but it doesn't shorten the fun of seeing Robin, Batman and the Joker duke it out.
Problems that I may have aren't major but are substantial for a animation Batman film to be perfect. Each DC film cant have Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy as the voices of Joker and Batman's as much as I would like it or as my fellow guerilla blogger G L. They were the voices in the DC animated Batman series and have been applauded generally by fans and critics as the definitive voices of those characters. Hearing someone else being Batman is not a hard task. As they just can put someone with a gravely and deep voice that isn't annoying to get the job done. But for the Joker voice it's tricky. Mark Hamill managed to be funny, hysterical, maniacal and down right sadistic with his portrayal of the voice of Joker. Hearing John DiMaggio in the voice isn't as pleasurable. He is a talented voice actor and many will know his voice from Futurama as Bender but as the Joker he isn't quite perfect. His laugh, his speech aren't just Mark Hamill. Of course somebody had to do the job and they picked a capable and experienced voice actor. I just don't think that the voice of the Joker should be a casual choice but a significant one to make a presence and not be a passing moment when his voice is heard. I just wasn't that impressed.
Besides my Joker complain the film just lacks the punch of a more epic and deeper story line, length time, drama and action. All the same problems of all the other DC animation films. This film is better than others due its high level of violence and drama that makes it more realistic. Also the fact that Judd Winick's dialogue here and there is quite cheesy and is almost word for word as in the comic dosen't help. But besides all that this is still highly recommend for all Batman geeks who I know wont miss the chance to see the Batman!
Comic book movies come and go and few of them are memorable or at least to be considered worthy of the name that they represent .It is mostly the big names such as Batman, Superman, Iron Man etc that are worth being watched and are good (Batman Forever and Batman and Robin doesn't count as they were jokes!). Then we have some comic book movies that are damn good but are not so well known because as comics they are overshadowed by the so known superheroes. The Crow in one of the case that the comic book and the hero of it are not so well known and not so, lets say mainstream but deserve our attention.
The story is a dark one and it goes something like this. Our hero Eric Draver (Brandon Lee) a guitar player in a rock band and his fiancée Shelly are in deep love and are getting married soon but bad luck hits their door as they get murdered the night before Halloween by a group of thugs that are out to have their fun. The thugs brutally murder Eric while they are having fun raping and torturing Shelly which she dies 30 hours later in the hospital. A year has passed and a crow brings Eric back to life to have his revenge for what they did to him and his wife.
The movie is simply beautiful, from the settings to the background to the music. It really represents the comic book where everything is dark and Gothic and gives the feeling that there is the smell of revenge in the air. Brandon Lee isnt your typical superhero he doesn't have any barriers like Batman or Superman or your friendly neighbor superhero meaning that he kills those who he swore revenge to. But he is not your typical vigilante either he kills only those who destroyed his life by torturing them in the same way that they did to him and his wife. Brandon Lee does an amazing job playing the role of the Crow you can feel his lust for revenge and in the same time how he suffers from the loss of his future wife and the pain that he feels every time he thinks about his past life.
Its a movie that really worths your time because apart from the great story that it has its the last movie Brandon Lee played. That's right Brandon Lee died during the making of the movie from an accident (although i still believe there is something behind that like with his father). So put on hold whatever you are planning for tonight go rent it or find it somewhere get your snacks and get ready to enjoy one of the greatest movies out there!

There is really not a lot to say for this film but that it was a comlete waste of time. A badly financed film with some of the craziest ideas for a villain that by the end of this film you will feel depressed over how you wasted valuable time from your life.
The story is that Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) escapes from prison and has the ultimate plan to destroy Superman (Christopher Reeve). He takes a piece of Superman's hair mixes it with a "fetus" lets say and attaches it onto a missile which Superman throws into the Sun. The explosion then creates a being called Nuclear Man. Yes that is the name of the villain in the film and he's quite mind blowingly bad. At the same time Clark has to face the Daily Planet falling in the hands of a scandal newspaper owner and his daughter Lacy's (Mariel Hemingway) advances on him. If that wasn't enough. The whole world cant achieve world peace because of too many nuclear weapons and Superman is the only one who can do the job..
Just by reading the summary I've already clarified enough to how silly and bad this film is. There is really nothing much more to say except that they shouldn't have made the film if they didn't have the money and that they should have had more respect for the character and for continuity of the franchise. Quest for Peace should have been called Quest for a good reason to make another shitty film!
As I said in the first review of Superman I, the people handling the Superman franchise were a bunch of morons. Donner who made the first film and 75% of the second was fired. His replacement was Richard Lester who emphasized more on comedic gags then deep plots with an attractive story. With Donner gone, so did Hackman go and Lois (Margot Kidder) was pushed aside as well. With some of the people that made the first films big now gone how much better do you think the franchise could have gone?
In the third film Superman/Clark Kent (Christopher Reeve) decides to return to Smallville to write a story while Lois (Margot Kidder) goes on a vacation to Bermuda. On Kent trip to Smallville he will see his old childhood friend Lana. There he will feel in love again and happy. Here is were the film is interesting. Now to the uninteresting part. Richard Pryor plays Gus a bum who gets a computer job. Touching the computer he realizes he has exceptional skills and steals money from the company. The president Webster (Robert Vaughn) finds out and makes a deal with him. Causing havoc where they can so they can manipulate the market to make greater profit. But there is only one person in there way. Should I say who?
Let me start off with the good. Kent going to Smallville wasn't a bad idea and making Lana into a love interest was a great idea. The chemistry between them is on par with the Lois and Clark dynamic. Also the way the film ends leaves hints to a possible love triangle scenario in the fourth film which would have been a marvelous idea. But as we all know, that didn't play out as it should have.
Now lets get into the bad. First the villains of the film are preposterous. The character of Webster is just a terrible replacement/ripoff of Luthor with once again terrible sidekicks. Then there's Richard Pryor one of the greatest stand up comedians of all time and not a bad actor who get the part of a computer genius that by touching a computer realizes he is a computer genius. I might say that right there is some very creative writing!
Besides the villains of the film, the other discrepancy the film has its is change of direction. The previous director Richard Donner had a more serious take on Superman that most audiences loved. Instead Richard Lester take on Superman is to put in more comedic gags that have nothing to due with continuation of the story or by any chance make any sense.
In the end Superman III was a failure at following the two first films. It wasn't a complete failure. It had a nice romance story and a good evil Superman subplot. But it was the start of the downfall of Superman films as the next one in the series destroyed all hopes for the franchise to continue.
We continue our comic madness with Superman II, the definitive Superman film till now. And I'm talking about the Richard Donner directors cut, not the campy Richard Lester version. The sequel raises the stakes, continues themes from the first film and manages to have some very powerful filmaking and action scenes.
Story follows the events of the first film with a lengthy recap. The imprisonment of the 3 deadly Kryptonians General Zod, Ursa and Non in the Phantom Zone. Floating in space, trapped the 3 prisoners are freed by the missile explosion in space from the first film. Free they see Earth and the chance again of ruling with their new powers. With their arrival to Earth, Superman faces the hardest challenge he will ever face. With imminent threat, luck will not be with him. As they the biggest threat will arrive to Earth, Superman will all ready be facing his other greatest challenge of remaining to be Superman or being in love.
What makes the film so much greater than the previous is its deep emotional story. What Superman has to go through is the ultimate challenge for himself. Its not the just the question why cant anybody beat Superman but what if Superman chose love before his duty? In the film he has that choice to make. A life like his stepfather envisioned for him with Lois or a life of solitude and commitment his real father Jor-El had wanted for him. Its a story with depth which the first film lacked and is only made better with a powerful scene in a diner to illustrate Superman undone and the incredible performance of Christopher Reeve.
But besides the serious stuff the action is also way above as well. Now punches are thrown, cool action scenes are shot and many more. Also another positive factor is the loss of Lex Luthor's sidekicks and his new interactions with the 3 criminal Kryptonians. Its just movie magic seeing Luthor con his way into getting Australia.
I enjoyed Superman II immensely. Its not perfect, it has some continuity issues and a repetitive ending mirroring the first film. Also the film has some terrible shots of a New York skyline at times which are quite noticeable. As if they didn't know the film is supposed to be a fictional place called Metropolis with no known landmarks. But even with that this is the best Superman film made that needs your attention.
For so long I still had never seen a Superman film in its full length except for latest film of the series. Now over the weekend i saw all four Superman films and glad that i did while I already had read a few Superman comics before hand. The first of them all might be the best Superman film, but it was a good start and a decent film.
The film doesn't follow the comic word by word but its does a good job of getting the spirit of who Superman is, his origin and the mythos. It shows us his origin on Krypton, his spaceship landing in Smallville, and his life as teenager with the Kent's in Smallville. Then the film turns its attention on a adult Clark Kent and his arrival at Metropolis and job at the Daily Planet. There he will meet the love of his life, his arch nemesis and then become the man his father wanted him to become a Superman amongst us.
Old fantasy films always make a bigger impact at a young age. Maybe if I had seen this young I would have a different opinion. but how could I if filled sometimes with so many bad ideas. Generally the production of the Superman films were handled by people that didn't know what the character was really about. Due to their handling silly ideas were place in, which did effect the first film greatly and then the later films even more. Richard Donner the director and his own screenwriter Mankiewicz tried the best they can to change the script and tone to a more serious film. They did accomplish that but not entirely.
The most evident problem with the film is Lex Luthor, the action and the coincidental events that take place in the film. With Luthor its no so much the take on Luthor himself or Hackman's performance but Luthor's sidekicks and place of operations. Why couldn't Luthor be in a huge office building being the CEO with evident power instead of him just proclaiming to be the criminal mastermind of th world. Thats not what Luthor was all about in the comics. But even more than that what mind boggled me was the choice of making him have sidekicks. Did he really need a goofy sidekick who is just stupid. Would the smartest man on Earth hire a moron? Then theres his girlfriend Miss. Teschmacher . The only reason she there is for eye candy and for the super-villain to have a woman to bang. The there's the action which is really plain and with no imagination. They get the point across that Superman can save everybody but that's just too easy. My complaint is that its not very entertaining. Last is the coincidences the film has. It annoyed me how when Superman reveals himself to the public it so happens to be with Lois being in a helicopter accident and saving on the same day Air Force One. What are the odds? Then there's at the end of the film where Luthor decides to shoot a rocket at the San Andreas fault for his diabolical plan. Who happens to be there at that exact moment? Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen that are covering the story. Again what are the odds..
Besides all that, for a 1978 Superman film its not that bad. For the first film to give us a incredible Superman with Reeve, a very cool origin in the start and an great chemistry between Lois and Clark then thats all I need to be covered. May not have been the best Superman film but is good film nonetheless.

I was one of the few that hadn't gone crazy over the first Iron Man film. The first film felt too rushed in its story development with no time for character moments. Did the sequel change all this or create newer problems? Sadly more problems occur in the second film leaving me bitter over still not having seen a great Iron Man film.
Second film follows the world as they have gotten used to Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) being their hero. In the meantime competitors have found opportunities to match his tech. Some unsuccessfully like Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and others to great length of success in Ivanko (Mickey Rourke). Stark is now on a mission to stop them from stealing his tech but at the same time he has to make up for past mistakes as he loses his closest friends in Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Rhodes (Don Cheadle) as he slowly gets wrapped around his own success and almost certain death to his own power supply thats keeping him alive.
First let me say how unfinished this film feels like. The music was horrendous in its inappropriate mood settings which after the film I found out it was made in only 4 days. Then there was Favreau's amateur directing, example in Black Widows fight scene after every move which she did around 10 or so she looked straight at the camera. I dont know how he thought that he was making a commercial or something but was really distracting. Besides that, we also had the writting and directing of the boring Hammer/Whiplash scenes. Not once in the whole film did I feel pity for Ivanko, not once did i feel interest in the villains plot and not once did I think that ther dialogue was at all important to overall story, mood or entertainment of the audience.
Whats funny with Iron Man 2 is how it feels like a Stan Lee era comic book. Back in Lee's day villains were superficial, there were no super layered stories, action didnt have to have a point to the story and spotlight was only portrayed to the heroes. This would be all rosy if this film was made back in the day in the 60's. Sadly this film was made in the 2010 were most audiences and reasonable people want a multi-layered story with meanings, superb action with resonance to the story and villains that are epic in their evilness.
Iron Man 2's failure is the lack of attention on the filmmakers part to make a more professionally done film and to raise the bar on the first film and the superhero genre. The film does have its moments and the actors due carry the weight of the film as do the effects but they couldn't save film in its entirety.
In my humble opinion wait until it comes out on DVD and instead go see Kick-Ass. There is a more professionally done film and highly more entertaining. Iron Man 2 wasn't bad due to its hype nor by any studio involvement but negligence of the own filmmakers to bring their A-game or to realize that they couldn't make a good film and give it to another person that could step up and bring it.

One of the most controversial comic book films as of late has arrived. Do people unknown to this property should give it a chance? Well hell yes. Why? Because here is a fun comic book film not like Iron Man 2, that doesn't disappoint at being one of the funniest, most controversial and black humored comic books ever made.
In a world with comics, one kid Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) wonders why no one has ever tried to become a real superhero. He decides its up to him to change that and be the first. Dave with his family problems and geek labeling at school finds something to believe in and change his life for ever. He becomes Kick-Ass. As Kick-Ass he will learn pain, defeat, evil and find friendship in fellow heroes in Red Mist and Hit Girl.
Kick-Ass is violent, provoking and hilarious. If you enjoy comic book films then this just right up your alley. Kick-Ass was an difficulty property to bring to life due its content. But director/writer Matthew Vaughn found a way and believed in the material. The zany ideas, the crazy action and the disgusting details all remain in the adaption of the comic book. But best of all it feels like a comic book film come to life. Ang Lee had tried to accomplish that with the first Hulk (2003) film with various techniques but fell short by going overboard.
I had a lot of fun with the film. All of the actors did bang up job. But there were parts which I was disappointed with. Due to having read the comic I was saddened with change of tone in the film. This is not anything serious but was hoping for a darker Kick Ass as in the comics. The changes made in the story are not tragic nor badly hurt the film but are unnecessary in my opinion compared to the original elements of the comics. Some areas like Kick Ass's romance is not one of the highlights of the film in my opinion as it feels like a copy of the Peter Parker/Mary Jane dynamic that was not in the comic book. Also some other changes to the storyline which make the film feel to much like a comic book film with a lot of desensitized violence. I think have this feeling due to the different emotions i got out from the different mediums. Both the comic and film are great but offer and hit different beats. Which in a way is not a bad thing.
By the end of the film I enjoyed the ride. Kick-Ass's rise to fame and the revenge of Big Daddy and Hit Girl on the Mob make a great story. What Kick Ass shows is that small comic book properties can be made into films and that with good handlers the overall meaning ,quality, spirit and moments of the book will remain. If your in the mood to see a young eleven year old girl be a killing ninja, than your going to love Kick Ass.
Im going to keep this review to a short length. Ive already reviewed a number of Marvel and DC animation films and theirs not much diffrence between them. So saying the same thing over and over again is not worth it.
Planet Hulk is latest film of the Marvel Animation Studios and is a fun action epic of Hulk and his struggles on the planet Sakkar. Some of Earths heroes like Iron Man and Dr. Strange decided that it would be the right choice to send the Hulk away from Earth, before he does some real damage to innocent people. While the Hulk is in mid orbit to a peaceful planet, he wakes up to damage the controls and send himself to the rebelious planet of Sakkar. There, captured and taken to be a Gladiator. There he will fight Skaar's ruler the Red King for his freedom and the freedom of Skaar itself.
The film doesn't differ to a large degree with the original Planet Hulk story. Some liberties are taken with minor tweaks in the story. But as with all the other comic animation films the original stories are all of greater value. The liberties that are taken in the film are in some areas ok and then others just plain silly. The most sad thing is that the audience of this film and others alike is for children. So a 12 issue story is crammed into 1 hour and necessary changes were made to fit this time length and audience.
Planet Hulk has all the classic qualites of the other animation films, good action, very good voice work, mediocre animation, and minimal characer development. Dont even bother seeing the film if your in the need for a Hulk experience. Reading the comic Planet Hulk or seeing the two live action films are better choices.

Το Surrogates αποτελεί μια από τις αρκετές πρόσφατες ή μελλοντικές ταινίες με θεματικό περιεχόμενο την χρήση ρομπότ, άλλων ανθρώπων ή άλλων υποκατάστατων, που θα μας επιτρέπουν να ζούμε ή να παίζουμε ανώδυνα από τον καναπέ του σπιτιού μας. Μιλάω για ταινίες όπως το Gamer ή το αναμενόμενο Avatar του γνωστού James Cameron. Αλλά στα της ταινίας:
Σε έναν μελλοντικό κόσμο όπου όλοι οι άνθρωποι χρησιμοποιούν ρομπότ για να ζήσουν χωρίς κινδύνους και χωρίς έγκλημα, ολόκληρο το FBI συγκλονίζετε από έναν πρωτόγνωρο φόνο μιας Surrogate (του ρομπότ αντικαταστάτη) που σκότωσε και τον χειριστή του ανατινάζοντας το μυαλό του. Με μεγάλες ανατροπές και μια βαθειά συνομωσία ο πράκτορας Green (Bruce Willis) πρέπει να αφήσει τον ψεύτικο τέλειο εαυτό του και να ψάξει όλη την αλήθεια καθώς τίποτα δεν είναι ασφαλές πια…
Η ταινία δεν αποτελεί την καλύτερη αλλά ούτε τη χειρότερη του είδους.. Έχει κάποια καλά στοιχεία τα οποία όμως συγκρούονται με τα πολλά αρνητικά στοιχεία και πρόχειρα φτιαγμένα κομμάτια του σεναρίου. Αναλυτικά όμως:
Τα ειδικά εφέ και οι σκηνές δράσης της ταινίας είναι αδιαμφισβήτητα σε πολύ υψηλά επίπεδα με τον σκηνοθέτη του τρίτου εξολοθρευτή να κάνει τη δουλεία του σε αυτό το σημείο. Το σενάριο επίσης βασίζετε σε μια πολύ επιτυχημένη graphic novel η οποία αποτελεί μια πολύ αξιόλογη βασική ιδέα κρύβοντας πολλά κοινωνικά νοήματα ως προς τι ορίζουμε άνθρωπο και πως θα είναι ο κόσμος με μόνο τα ιδεατά υποκατάστατα να περιφέρονται στους δρόμους .
Σε αυτό όμως το σημείο η ταινία αρχίζει να κατηφορίζει. Η κλισεδιάρικη ιστορία του μπάτσου που του έχει καταστρέψει τη ζωή και τη σχέση του με τη γυναίκα του προσωπικά με απογοήτευσε το περισσότερο. Είναι κλασσικά λάθη τα οποία μπορείς να αποφύγεις με λίγη περισσότερη δουλεία.
Αλλά σαφώς αυτό που καρατομεί την ταινία είναι η απίστευτα μικρή διάρκεια του. Τα 104 λεπτά του δεν αφήνουν κανένα τομέα να ξεχωρίσει. Η δράση εξελίσσετε με μεγάλη ταχύτητα ,τόση ώστε να μη μπορείς να σκεφτείς τι μόλις συνέβη, και η λύση του δράματος να φτάνει τόσο γρήγορα που ελπίζεις σε μια τελευταία ανατροπή ώστε να μείνει λίγο παραπάνω και να τελειώσεις τα τελευταία ποπ-κόρν σου. Αλλά όχι.
Με τις δραματικές στιγμές και τις στιγμές έντασης πετσοκομμένες και ελάχιστες, λογικό βέβαια καθώς μιλάμε για ένα κόσμο ρομπότ χωρίς αισθήματα ο Bruce Willis καταφέρνει να διασωθεί παίρνοντας βέβαια μεγάλο μερίδιο του χρόνου με τον ανθρώπινο χαρακτήρα του. Ένα μεγάλο κρίμα για πολύ καλό καστ με ονόματα όπως του James Cromwell που θα μπορούσε να δείξει πολλά περισσότερα πράματα αν είχε λίγο χρόνο παραπάνω στον ρόλο του ξεπεσμένου δημιουργού των Surrogates.
Εν κατακλείδι η ταινία αποτελεί ένα καλό action movie το οποίο όμως δε θα πρότεινα για τις αίθουσες του σινεμά καθώς προσωπικά μου άφησε ένα αίσθημα ανολοκλήρωσης και λύπησης για τις 8 λίρες μου που πήγαν σε μια ταινία λιγότερης διάρκειας της 1 1/2 ώρας. ΟBruce Willis βάζει τα δυνατά του και καταφέρνει να ανεβάσει την ταινία από ένα κακό σε ένα μέτριο προς καλό φιλμ.
Another DC animated film is out and of course I wouldn’t miss the chance to see it. Along line with the other DC releases its very good. All the elements that made the other films so good are still here. And also the same problems that due to its format will probably not change. But Public Enemies is by far from all the rest the best DC animated film in action and in its size of DC characters.
The story is of how Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown) has been elected president in dark times as the economy has gone down. Now in charge he sees fixing things in a different manner. Employing superheroes under the U.S. government. Not all though agree some do join and while in power the country manages to get back up again. Now Earth is faced with great threat the coming of meteor but there is a catch its of kryptonite. With this treat Luthor plays a game and makes Superman (Tim Daily) into public enemy number one. Only help he has is Batman (Kevin Conray) while he chased from the law, foes and with no time to waste so he can find a way with Batman to save the world.
As I said the film has everything the other DC animated films had. Great voice acting, serious story and great action. The standouts of the film are one the action which is top notch. Very well done and the idea of putting Supeman and Batman to fight a enormous amount of villains and superheroes is great eye candy. Another thing that stood out was the great lines. Some great dialogue that surprised me and made me enjoy the characters interaction even more.
The obvious problem I had as with the others is becaue this is straight to DVD film and for young audience is they don’t push themselves for a greater story length film. Story is great until the end which feels kind of messy but still manages to be ok. Also the animation is again standard, lacks in style with not much detail but very fluid in its action sequences. Also some of the plot elements seem a little bit influenced from the Marvel comic event Civil War but on a positive note incorporates DC history very well and does have a little bit social commentary in the beginning of the film which i admire.
Public Enemies has some great action and any comic fan will be pleased with this. But aside from the action and the great interaction between characters of course there not much else there. Only recommended to comic book fans.
In the end Superman III was a failure at following the two first films. It wasn't a complete failure. It had a nice romance story and a good evil Superman subplot. But it was the start of the downfall of Superman films as the next one in the series destroyed all hopes for the franchise to continue.

Old fantasy films always make a bigger impact at a young age. Maybe if I had seen this young I would have a different opinion. but how could I if filled sometimes with so many bad ideas. Generally the production of the Superman films were handled by people that didn't know what the character was really about. Due to their handling silly ideas were place in, which did effect the first film greatly and then the later films even more. Richard Donner the director and his own screenwriter Mankiewicz tried the best they can to change the script and tone to a more serious film. They did accomplish that but not entirely.
Besides all that, for a 1978 Superman film its not that bad. For the first film to give us a incredible Superman with Reeve, a very cool origin in the start and an great chemistry between Lois and Clark then thats all I need to be covered. May not have been the best Superman film but is good film nonetheless.
Planet Hulk is latest film of the Marvel Animation Studios and is a fun action epic of Hulk and his struggles on the planet Sakkar. Some of Earths heroes like Iron Man and Dr. Strange decided that it would be the right choice to send the Hulk away from Earth, before he does some real damage to innocent people. While the Hulk is in mid orbit to a peaceful planet, he wakes up to damage the controls and send himself to the rebelious planet of Sakkar. There, captured and taken to be a Gladiator. There he will fight Skaar's ruler the Red King for his freedom and the freedom of Skaar itself.
Planet Hulk has all the classic qualites of the other animation films, good action, very good voice work, mediocre animation, and minimal characer development. Dont even bother seeing the film if your in the need for a Hulk experience. Reading the comic Planet Hulk or seeing the two live action films are better choices.
