    For what it's worth Im still relatively new to digital photography and have a Canon 300D which was a hand me down from my brother so far I have found it perfectly adequate for my immediate needs.

    We had a emergency situation last year. We had already filed our AP documents a couple of months ago but had not been approved. We went to USCIS office and showed hospital letter as a proof for emergency. They made us fill a new application and AP was approved in 1 day.
    If you do not get help in one of the offices, try your luck at another USCIS office.

    A quick question on Canadian immigration(PR) - Can someone tell me as to typically how long the entire process takes if applied from US? Starting from aplying and getting the PR approved? thanks.

    1. Download the form
    2. Fill it
    3. Supply all required documentation
    4. If you did not live in the US in the past 5 years , if you lived elsewhere unless its india, you need to get the police report, for india they will do it.
    5. You get all the transcripts of your college etc in sealed envelopes attested by the dept/school
    6. Birth certificates, experience letters.
    7. Send the application with the requisite fee, the form is easy to understand and fill, so you need no tutorial for that.
    8. Once you file the application, right now based on the processing time, you will receive a letter assigning your application a file number. Keep this document , its very important.
    9. Now your wait begins and it will last 48-52 weeks. 'YES' they will touch your file only after that much time. You will receive a request to complete medicals and fingerprints ( local police + any other private FP place ).
    10. Once they receive all the information, you will be either called for an interview or you will directly get a letter saying send your passports for stamping.
    11. Based on what you received( if interview is required you will go there to attend the interview) otherwise you send the pp and you will receive them stamped with immigrant visas.

    My EAD expires on - 10/10/2008. I had e-filed on 10/01/2008 for renewal.
    I-140 approved. I 485 peding since Aug 2007.

    Should I continue working after 10/10 as my current EAD will expire. Can I use my e-field receipt notice to continue my employment ?

    Pl advise.

    I am also appearing at mumbai consulate for my 7th year H1B stamping. is that lady's behavior same with other people appearing for visa ? or just for H1 applicant ?

    For RD to be 05/07/07, you must be eligible to file in the month of May and hence PD should be current as per April VB.

    EB3 ROW was still Aug 2002 in April visa bulletin. How could you file for I-485?

    Not April VB. To file in May, PD should be current as per May VB (which came out in mid April). On May VB, EB3 ROW was 01AUG03. This case's PD is July 11 2003, so went through.

    Please help me out with my question.

    My H1B Visa and I-94 thant came along with the paperwork is valid from 03/2006 thru 03/2009. this would be my 1st 3 years.

    I reentered the country in 12/06 and my passport then was expiring by 05/07. So the immigration officer stamped the I-94 that i recieved in the flight, filled out the back of the card with my EAC # and Employer name and then wrote on the stamp

    "H-1B
    May-22-2007
    (validity of ppt)"

    i just saw this today 03/05/08....somebody please tell me they know what to do in this case....
    1)should i leave the country and surrender it and pretend like nothing happened? would it be very risky?
    2) should i inform my employer....i know they will freakout and ask me to stop working till this is sorted out
    3) do i need to file for an extention?
    4)do i need some sort of petition?

    2.file for extension quickly

    do they have any word to say in this deep visa retrogression for indian origin?

    There is a hospital in Brooklyn New York where one of my friend was given H1-B and he is doing his residency from there. I will let you know.
    Usually there is shortage of medical professional in PA especially OBG, Ortho etc, due to high mal practice insurance, so they all looking for interns and willing to do H1b and GC

    To the original poster:

    Since the MTR was already filed you can still extend the H-1B. However, if the MTR gets denied then no further H-1B visa extension is possible.

    BTW - even the H-1B extension can be applied based on 'Labor Certification applied more than a year ago' criteria an I-140 denial will override the above benefit.

    Remember, changes do not happen easily and one must not assume that things will happen automatically. Things can and will happen only when we make it happen and by remaining dormant we cannot achieve what we want to achieve.

    We urge all the guests to become members now and join their State Chapters. We also request the dormant members, not to remain dormant and aloof. We request the fence sitters to jump the fence now.

    Thanks everyone for the valued response. One last question:

    I was under the impression that the job title does not matter for AC21 as long as the job duties are similar. For example, instead of IT Manager, say, I get a title of Developement Lead/Team Lead and the Job duties are similar.
    What happens in this case? Is it still risky to pursue AC21?
