Golden Globe Winners!

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards were yesterday and lets just say they, they didn't disappoint in their bad decision making. Lets start from the top. They chose Avatar as the best Drama of the year. They chose the most unoriginal film amongst the nominees to give the award. Do we all remember Dances with the Wolves. Hope people see the similarities. They gave James Cameron all the awards for Titanic. Which was greatly overrated and they did again here with Avatar. I would have preferred The Hurt Locker or Inglourious Basterds getting it. Even Up in the Air would have been a ballsier move. But the most popular, box office hit, most un-original, effects loaded film of all the nominees gets it. I'm not saying I didn't like Avatar. But it didn't deserve the award and it shows the fairness of the Golden Globes with their choice. Choosing films based on who directs it, is not fair. James Cameron is not the first. We can all look at Eastwood to see this example from the past. District 9's Neil Blomkamp could have gotten nominated. Instead the Globes went with the safe and standard choice of Eastwood in the directing category.

Now about the best Comedy of the year. The Hangover. Once again, what were they thinking? When the most original, emotional and meaningful romantic comedy of the year in (500) Days of Summer comes along. The Globes still pick the Hangover. Guaranteed it was funny. But did we all forget that it dragged too long with its simple plot, showed promise but never delivered with its story towards the end. Fun film of the summer but not by a long shot awards worthty.

To close. I hope the Oscars do slightly a better job. Though what am I saying? the Oscars are same kind of idiots that would do the same. Because they have too many mistakes already under there belt. So get ready when the Oscars come for them to make even more award blunders.

P.S. Did I mention, James Cameron got the best director award. The man did a better job on Terminator 2 then Avatar or even Titanic! Am i the only one who sees these things? Come on Globes! Come on Academy! Cant you see what everybody else sees. You need to change your ways..
